Assignment 03: U-tube model 0440949 Andreas van Cranenburgh Abstract: A qualitative model of the water level in two tubes connected by a pipe, optionally overflowing in a container below The point of the model is to simulate the water level in two tubes connected by a pipe. If the water levels are not equal they will equalise, possibly overflowing in a container below. The tubes have three levels and pressures, and the pipe has three possible flows, all in the following quantity space: - Zero (point) - Plus (interval) - Max (point) The container has two levels: - Zero (point) - Plus (interval) Three scenarios are presented: - Unequal levels: a scenario with an attainable envisionment where L>R (experiment with the control you have using inequalities on quantities and landmarks) - Unknown values: a full envisionment scenario. - Unequal levels with overflow: a scenario with overflow into a container below Weak point: the overflow container does not always have a derivative Strong point: for the rest it seems to work
